Waypoint
A delivery API that online stores call to create shipments, track couriers live and receive status webhooks.
This is a concept project: a realistic brief I planned and designed to show how I work. It does not describe a past client or claim client results.
The brief
A courier company takes orders from stores by phone and spreadsheet. The brief: a public API and partner dashboard so stores can create shipments from their own systems and customers can follow the courier on a map.
Approach
- 01Designed the API contract first in OpenAPI and generated client SDKs from it.
- 02Idempotency keys on every write, so retries from partner systems never create duplicate shipments.
- 03Webhook delivery through a queue with retries, signatures and a log partners can inspect.
